Before the official Grand Opening, Brotula’s held two complimentary soft opening dinners with all tips and proceeds benefitting two local charities, Boys and Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast and Food for Thought Outreach. Before the official ribbon cutting, owners Tyler Jarvis and Chris Ruyan presented Boys and Girls Clubs with a check for $2,092, as well as $2,220 for Food for Thought.

Brotula’s Seafood House & Steamer is now officially open for dinner in the old Fisherman’s Wharf building on Destin Harbor. An extensive renovation was completed including new floors, upgraded finishes, and a new bar area appointed with garage doors, giving guests an immediate view of the Harbor upon arrival. The 5,500+ square-foot restaurant boasts seating for 280 guests including the refurbished outdoor deck where diners can enjoy live music and a 180-degree view of the Destin Harbor. The interior of the restaurant also offers seating options with panoramic views of the Harbor.

Offering lunch and dinner daily and brunch on Sundays, this unique concept features steamed and boiled seafood fresh off the docks in Destin. In addition to local seafood guests can enjoy Alaskan snow crab and king crab, local and domestic oysters, mussels, clams, blue crab and shrimp all with unique finishing seasonings, flavored boiled waters, and finishing butters. The ‘Hook and Cook’ program allows guests to bring in their catch from a day on the Gulf for Brotula’s to prepare. The menu will also feature burgers made with Certified Angus Beef, ribs, sandwiches, salads, and other creative seafood entrees.

Born and raised in Destin, Florida, Co-Owner Tyler Jarvis explained, “It’s a dream come true to open a restaurant on the Harbor where I played as a child.” Jarvis’ father, Gary Jarvis runs the Backdown 2 out of Destin Harbor.

Similar to Jackacudas, Brotula’s will also feature the Fish Trax program, a tracking program that monitors local catches by tagging when and where the fish is caught; this method ensures the restaurateurs’ fresh and local promise; and as an added bonus promotes the local fishing fleet. Located on land owned by the Destin Fishing Fleet coop, 33 local charter boats sit in the water directly behind the restaurant.

“We strive to be innovators in everything we do,” Co-Owner Chris Ruyan explained. “What better place to showcase the fruits of labor from local fisherman and farmers than in the heart of Destin? We know we have a good thing here, and we are ready to share it with the Emerald Coast.”

The restaurant is now open daily for lunch & dinner with a delicious picturesque Sunday Brunch. For daily updates, find Brotula’s Seafood House and Steamer on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
