Capriccio Cafe: The Coziest Cafe in Destin
Following the recent rain and wind from Hurricane Irma, we’re experiencing cooler temperatures that are giving us all the warm fuzzies. For some real warmth though, we’re heading to Capriccio Cafe in the heart of Destin. Located on Gulf Shore Drive, Capriccio Cafe is an authentic Italian coffee shop and bakery.
Now that fall is officially in the air, we’re ready to cozy up with a warm mug in one of our favorite cafes. Alright, alright, we admit, the rest of the country doesn’t consider the low 70s and upper 60s fall weather. But when you live on the Emerald Coast, you have to meet autumn halfway! (Cue up the scarves, boots, and lattes, please!)
Upon wandering in to Capriccio Cafe, you’ll no doubt be greeted by Danny, the shop’s manager, who’s always happy to customize your order or offer recommendations. Marco, the owner, hails from Milan, Italy, and is the quiet, knowledgable presence that makes Capriccio so much more than just another coffee shop. His expertise and experience are the driving forces behind the authentic menu of pastries, meats, cheeses, coffees and teas.
Any of their croissant sandwiches are buttery, flaky heaven, especially if you add prosciutto. But if you want to know what most locals rave about, try the crepes. Our favorite is the Napoli, stuffed with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and extra virgin olive oil. For those with a sweet tooth, try the Pasticcio, stuffed with mascarpone, strawberries, and bananas.
A croissant, a stuffed crepe, a latte, and a corner chair with today’s paper–this is how we enjoy falling temperatures at the beach. It doesn’t have to be summer to enjoy Destin; here, life is better year-round. Find your Destin vacation rental this fall and enjoy some of the year’s best rates. Then, get to Capriccio Cafe and curl up in a cozy little corner of paradise.
