Destin Always Celebrating the Red, White, & Blue
We Love America & Our U.S. Military
The Florida Gulf Coast is home to several military installations with bases located from Pensacola to Panama City. The area is also home to many retirees from all branches of service. We proudly celebrate our country and U.S. serviceman in many ways throughout the year.Â
Red, White, & Blue Celebration
Find a place anywhere along Destin Harbor on any Thursday night during the summer to enjoy this fun event.  The highlight of the celebration is the flyover of vintage WWII aircraft beginning at 7:00 p.m. If you are in the Harborwalk area, there is also live entertainment and children’s activities. The evening caps off with a fireworks display at 9:00 PM.
God Bless America
If you are ever lucky enough to fly over Destin, FL, you might be able to spot the Legendary Marine roof mural which proclaims “Thank You…God Bless America.”
- The mural is located on top of the marine building located on the south side of the Destin Mid-Bay Bridge. The side of the building features Wyland Whaling Wall #88, a project headed by the internationally known marine artist Wyland.
- Wyland created the one-acre American flag — the largest painted flag in the world — on the roof of the marina as a salute to the armed forces stationed at nearby Eglin Air Force Base and Hurlburt Field Air Force Base.
iLoveDestin.com says “Thanks” and God Bless America!
