Get Fired Up for Smoke on the Coast BBQ Competition (Today!)
When it comes to finger-licking barbecue, everyone has a preference for sauce. Kansas City Sweet Red? South Carolina Mustard? Â Alabama White Sauce?
Wherever your barbecue allegiance lies, get ready to sample some of the best slow-cooked, fall-off-the- bone barbecue on the Emerald Coast. Destin Commons  welcomes acclaimed grill-masters to the 7th Annual Smoke on the Coast BBQ and Fireworks Festival July 3.
Smoke on the Coast pairs merchants and organizations with local charities to benefit the latter. From 5- 10 p.m. tonight, enjoy live music by Trigger Proof, the “best party band in the South, and catch native Destin band Heritage at 7 p.m.  Heritage is a reggae/rock band, making its last round of performances on the Emerald Coast before heading out West for the summer. Their West coast tour spans Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Utah.
In addition to live music, have some fun with street performers and kids’ activities, all while enjoying $1 barbecue samples. Let your taste buds be heard by casting your vote for the People’s Choice Award, and see who the judges choose in a blind taste test.
