Gumbo Contest & Silent Auction!

It’s been a little chilly on the Emerald Coast recently, but we have the perfect weekend event in Destin to help you warm up!

The Destin History and Fishing Museum is hosting their annual Gumbo Contest and Silent Auction this Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 11AM to 2PM. The event will take place at the Destin Community Center and all are welcome.

Both individual and area restaurants will be competing for the title of ‘Best Gumbo on the Panhandle’. In addition to the delicious gumbo sampling, live entertainment will also take place during the event. Sway to the sounds of a great local band as you munch on the tasty creations and chat with the chefs.

While we know you will enjoy the gumbo, be sure to pop over to the silent auction, as well. Over 60 packages will be up for bidding and include vacation stays, artwork, jewelry, golf packages, area activities and more. Admission to the event is just $20 the day of, but tickets are also on sale at the Destin History and Fishing Museum in downtown for the reduced price of $15 until Friday.

This event benefits the Destin History and Fishing Museum, which works to preserve the heritage of the World’s Luckiest Fishing Village. Come out and enjoy a great event this Saturday!
