With the 66 annual Destin Fishing Rodeo a week underway, It’s been really fun each afternoon going to the docks to watch the daily weigh-ins. During the month of October it’s the thing to do in Destin, FL for all ages and interests. I mean, the Destin Harbor is already a “must do” for it’s scenery alone but also the happening spots and Destin Activities, but for October we have a daily reminder of what Destin was founded for… fishing! Destin is the “Luckiest Fishing Village” and has kept this name-sake for centuries. 

 

If you’ve ever gone deap sea fishing other places and then fish here in Destin, FL it’s an amazing experience, way beyond the norm. Our waters are clear and full of plenty of some of the best tasting fish breeds. We are well known for our various types of Grouper, Snapper, Mackerel, Flounder, Triggerfish, Red Drum or also known as Red Fish, Scamp, Seabass, Cobia, Florida Pompano, Seatrout, Blue Fish, Sailfish, Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, Great Barracuda, and even different types of Shark. This is not a complete list, just a list of the more popular.
