South Walton Food and Wine Festival for Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation
It’s the time of the Wine Festivals. Southern Living Magazine reports this Weekend in Sandestin is one of the most successful Festivals of the Southeast.
Wine Festivals are the best way to try wines that you may not have ever come across otherwise. Thanks to Chan Cox, the man who developed the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation and the South Walton Food & Wine Festival, and the creative and qualified people he has developing this amazing event, they out-do themselves every year. This year, for 2015, they are excited to incorporate the Nashville Songwriter’s Showcase and an array of Craft Spirits and adding a Friday night “Craft Beer & Spirits Jam” to bring the entertainment and experience to epic proportions. They are setting the bar for all other festivals on the Emerald Coast, as well as the entire Southeast. This will be one must do event for Destin visitors and locals alike.
This year’s annual South Walton Beaches Wine & Food Festival will be held April 23-26, 2015 throughout the Town Center of Grand Boulevard at Sandestin. Celebrity wine producers and chefs present fine wine and food pairings from the world’s most famous appellations. The Savor South Walton Culinary Village offers a sumptuous array of foods to taste, wines to pair, as well as wine and food tasting seminars and live entertainment. The event is a major fundraiser for Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, which benefits children in need in Northwest Florida. Randy Hayden, general manager of The Craft Bar and Wine World and a 17-year veteran of the food & beverage industry has poured his determination and inspiration into the creation of this event, “We really put a lot of thought into what we offer,” Hayden says. “We love turning people on to new things. Our distributors will be pouring fan favorites along with new products that they are launching.”
Since this is a wine and FOOD event, Hayden also wants everyone to know, “We take the food just as seriously as the drinks; each restaurant was hand-selected to participate,” he says. If you have ever attended an event that Randy has organized, you know and will be looking forward to the food just as much as all the varieties of wine, craft beer, and spirits. Again, this is the thing to do in Destin in April.
