Southern Airways Express Now Offering Year-Round Destin Service

There are some amazing new flight deals soaring into the Destin airport by Southern Airways!

To celebrate the new year-round service, the Memphis-based airline announced to Facebook followers what they termed “an outrageous” fare deal. You could purchase a ticket to fly this Sunday, September 12, for just $7 on the 1:15 p.m. flight from Memphis to Destin. The airline says the fare deal was to say “thank you” to loyal customers and to celebrate the switch from seasonal to year-round daily Destin, Fl service.

  • Southern Airways Express launched last year and has been growing ever since, recently adding DeKalb-Peachtree Airport in Atlanta to its routes.  10170750_308722089281202_5719006964955128462_n
  • Southern Airways is providing daily service from Destin to Memphis, TN, Atlanta, GA, and Jackson, MS, and weekend service to Oxford, MS.
  • If you would like to combine a flight with a beach trip, you will see two of our vacation partners, Wyndham and Southern Vacation Rentals, linked at the bottom of their website or we can assist you directly with Destin vacation rentals.
  • The airline operates a fleet of three, 10-seat Cessna Caravans.
  • According to an interview with the Panama City News Herald, Southern Airways CEO Stan Little said the most difficult part in launching the company has been getting the word out. Currently, flights do not appear in searches on popular travel sites, but plans are in place to roll that out next year.  “Next year when people search Destin to Atlanta, they’ll be able to find a Southern Airways flight,” Little said. “It will pop up because it will be the lowest fare.”

Football fans will be especially interested in their SEC football flight packages.  Prices are roundtrip.  Trips from Destin will include an “SEC game of the week” flight, which will escort passengers to the city hosting the biggest Southeastern Conference game every Saturday.

All of this reminds me of the saying: “Here in the South, we have two seasons, not four…football & beach.”
