Sunsets & Sushi – a Destin Tradition

While watching the sunset may be a favorite beach tradition, no trip to Destin is complete without a visit to Harbor Docks to enjoy fresh, handmade sushi.

The sushi tradition started back in 1988 when Yoshi Eddings began working at the 14581_10151998162434149_1703756052_npopular seafood restaurant. Originally from Tokyo, Yoshi learned the art of sushi-making while working in her parent’s Japanese restaurant.

Yoshi not only opened Harbor Docks’ sushi bar, she’s responsible for opening and training sushi chefs around the Southeast at partner restaurants such as Chuck’s Fish in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa and Five in Athens, Georgia.  Yoshi has also been called upon to provide her 1012272_10151972432174149_1626790937_nexpertise on movie sets, preparing food for the likes of Tom Hanks, Madonna, Bill Murray, Robin Williams, Danny Glover, Sharon Stone, and Richard Gere.

If you would like to enjoy some of the best sushi around and dine just like the stars, visit Harbor Docks at 538 Harbor Boulevard.  The menu is diverse so if sushi is not your thing, you will find something else to enjoy.  All the grilled fish entrees are excellent.  Harbor Docks is also a great place for lunch.
