Thanksgiving in Destin!

IMG 2753 photoshopped

The holidays are fast approaching and the decks of Destin will soon be alive with the sights and sounds of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

While many Destin restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving Day, we highly recommend visiting Harbor Docks. Here you can enjoy a traditional turkey dinner – for free. Yes, for free. For the past 21 years, Harbor Docks has been offering free dinners in exchange for donations. All proceeds are then gifted to local charities, such as Destin Harvest and Okaloosa County Habitat for Humanity. Other area restaurants open for the holiday include Marina Cafe and Beachwalk Cafe at Henderson Park Inn.

Once you’ve gobbled up all the traditional Thanksgiving goodies, Santa will soon come to town! You can visit with Santa at the Destin Commons or along the water’s edge at HarborWalk Village. Santa will make his grand entrance on the Destin Harbor on Friday, November 27, 2015 from noon to 4pm. The event is free, open to the public and will include kids’ activities and plenty of time to visit with the big man in red. Santa will then be available each weekend until Christmas!

Other holiday activities to enjoy during the season include performances of ‘Every Christmas Story Ever Told’ on select dates throughout December, as well as the Lighted Boat Parade on Sunday, December 13, 2015. We hope to see you out strolling the docks as they are decked out for the season.
