The 8th Annual Flying High on the Harbor Kite Festival

If you see a 50-foot panda, a 60-foot octopus, or a 100-foot parrot flying over the Destin Harbor, don’t worry! That just means it’s time for the 8th Annual Flying High on the Harbor Kite Festival, presented by Kitty Hawk Kites. On September 17th and 18th, 2016, head down to Kitty Hawk Kites in Destin’s HarborWalk Village for toy and game demos, kite making activities for kids, and a BOGO kite sale. But, the festivities don’t stop there! Every 30 minutes, a free shuttle boat will run from HarborWalk Village to Norriego Point. So, you can catch a free ride to see huge show kites flying over the Harbor, take a free kite flying lesson, and let the kids enjoy a candy drop! If you are looking for fun things to do in Destin, this event is a local favorite!

Head down to HarborWalk Village, from 10am – 4pm on September 17th and 18th, to participate in this fantastic annual event. Admission is free, the shuttle boat is free, and seeing a giant panda flying over the Destin Harbor is free too! This fun activity in Destin is perfect for families and kite enthusiasts! Norriego Point is an absolutely gorgeous area of the beach, where you can swim and enjoy the crystal-clear turquoise water along with the kite show. Norriego Point is also known as a great spot to snorkel. So, grab your mask and fins, pack a cooler, and bring the whole family to HarborWalk Village for the 8th Annual Flying High on the Harbor Kite Festival!
