Three Seafood Spots You Can’t Miss

It's a Fat Tuesday Feast during Destin Mardi Gras

Seafood is a way of life on the Gulf Coast, especially during fall, when the annual Seafood Fest kicks off!

Every October, people flock to Destin to celebrate what the Emerald Coast is known for: seafood. The Destin Seafood Festival kicks off every year right around the same time as Destin’s annual fishing rodeo. So whether you are coming to Destin to enjoy the catch of the day or you plan to be the one reeling it in, you need to know about three of our favorite spots to grab a bite while you’re in town.

If you are looking for a a quick meal in between fishing sessions, or you’re ready to sti down with the whole crew, the Destin Ice Seafood Market (better known to locals as the Destin Ice House) has everything you need. From local seafood fresh off the boat to prepared dishes ready to take home, it’s hard to go wrong. For a quick lunch, their smoked tuna dip with crackers is a must-have item that every Destin local knows and loves.

Of course, if you are looking for a true Destin tradition there is nothing better than Dewey Destin’s on the Bay. Fried shrimp, peel and eat shrimp and the freshest catch of the day make up their simple chalkboard menu. When you get to Dewey’s, not only will you find some of the best seafood anywhere, you will also have one of the best views in Destin. Sit outside over the water, with expansive views of Crab Island and the Destin Bridge or cool out inside (closer to the sweet tea refills).

Harbor Docks is one of the best places in Destin for breakfast, lunch, or dinner with a view of the harbor. Harbor Docks prides itself on serving the freshest local seafood and are the leaders in Gulf-to-table dining. From the extensive sushi menu featuring local seafood to creating and crafting meals with as much flavor as there are fish in the sea, Harbor Docks is the go-to for local Gulf seafood.

The only question remains: which Destin hot-spot will you find yourself at this fall?
