Weekend Holiday Events

It’s a big holiday weekend here on the Emerald Coast! The Zoobilee of Lights will kick off, Santa will ride into town and even his younger brother Billy Claus will be hitting the sand. If you will be enjoying a Destin vacation this weekend, be sure to check out all the festivities!

First up this coming weekend is the start of the annual Zoobilee of Lights. This event benefits a tremendous local cause, the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge Zoological Park, an organization dedicated to the rehabilitation and welfare of Florida’s natural fauna. The event takes place at the refuge, which is located in Crestview (and well worth the short drive), and includes an evening of magical lights, cookies, a visit from Santa, and of course, animals! Entrance is $7 for adults and $4 for children. The event runs each weekend now through December 23, 2015.

Also taking place this weekend is the annual Destin Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 10AM. The parade, themed ‘A Storybook Christmas’, will travel west down Highway 98 from the Downtown Destin Shopping Center to Stahlman Avenue. If you can’t make Santa’s arrival during the parade on Saturday, stop by LuLu’s Destin on Sunday, December 13, 2015 to watch as his younger brother Billy Claus arrives for his annual beach party at 2pm.

Additional holiday events, including photos with Santa and Holiday ArtWalk, will also take places at HarborWalk Village. If you will be in town Sunday evening, be sure to grab dinner at a Destin restaurant on the harbor to watch the annual lighted boat parade!
