Today kicks off October, and fall break is in full swing! Families from across the country are traveling to our famous sugar white sands to experience some of that warm Florida weather. If you’re among them, you’re in luck as temperatures are expected to stay warm and the sun will continue to shine! Get out there and experience the fun activities happening in Destin during your vacation. Here’s your guide to everything going on in Destin, from seafood festivals to 5Ks and everything in between!

  • Destin Fishing Rodeo –¬†Calling all anglers! Participate in the Destin Fishing Rodeo, happening all month long in Destin’s beautiful blue waters. You’re sure to find out why Destin is known as “The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village!” Weigh-ins are free and open to the public each day from 10 AM – 7 PM. During the festival, experience a myriad of family-friendly fun, from the Kids FallFest to Shark Saturdays and Destin’s largest Halloween party on October 31st.

  • Destin Seafood Festival & Destin 5K Rodeo Run – The perfect compliment to the Destin Fishing Rodeo, these events go hand in hand! The Destin Seafood Festival takes place October 5th-7th at the Destin Harbor. Experience local seafood, prepared fresh just for you while enjoying handmade pieces from regional artists. In its 40th year, the Destin Seafood Festival is a popular Destin event! Then, the Destin 5K Rodeo Run offers you some Sunday morning fun before attending the seafood festival and weigh-ins! Jog along a tree-lined course across Calhoun Avenue in Downtown Destin. The first 200 to register¬†for the race get a commemorative t-shirt!
  • ArtWalk on the Harbor – Don’t miss out on the chance to attend ArtWalk on the Harbor! This Destin event takes place the third Sunday of each month from 11 AM – 4 PM, so if you’re in town on October 21st you’re in luck! Discover handmade pieces from over 40 artists, including traditional art, soap makers, watch designers, and more! You’ll also be able to purchase art from the local and regional vendors. You’ll find ArtWalk located just below Margaritaville, near AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar.
  • Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival¬†– Known as the Best Beer Fest on the Emerald Coast, the Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival is back for its 11th consecutive year! Featuring more than 40 on-site craft brewers, nearly 200 domestic and international craft beers, seminars, samplings, and live music, this festival is two days of fun. On October 12th, sample offerings from local breweries at The Village of Baytowne Wharf while dancing the night away to live music. Then, on October 13th, attend a VIP beer tasting event with great food from local favorite Marlin Grill. A Grand Tasting follows the VIP event.¬†All ticket holders will be given a special Baytowne Wharf Beer Fest glass for tasting
