Destin Florida’s New Fun Place
Bric à Brac is spicing things up in the newly renovated Shoreline Village Mall!
¬†The Petit family is familiar to many fans for decades now… Oliver “Oli” Petit found success with the popular Red Bar in Grayton Beach, and his father and brother, Louis & Phillipe Petit with Louis Louis in Santa Rosa Beach. Now Phillipe’s son’s, twin’s Rodolfo and Fernando have opened a jewel, Bric √† Brac, bringing Destin Dining to an eclectic and energizing level! Bric √† Brac means “this and that”, a great description of the mix of music styles, different decorative art and varied events. Nothing mundane.
The food is incredible with the same family attention to detail and quality with the portions being plenty and very satisfying. Their menu is creatively written on skim boards and the waiter graciously explains each dish to include the nightly specials for food and drink. This weekend is the inception of their Sunday Brunch. Notice the many coastal and cajun inspired dishes. We are always getting asked where to get brunch in Destin and Bric à Brac looks like they have all the bases covered!
The brothers are from Costa Rica originally but have grown up in the family business working and experiencing every facet of what it takes to run a restaurant but also create a fun and inviting atmosphere. The two have paid close attention to how Oli & Phillipe have done things in order to fulfill their dream of opening their own place… just as they have done. So YEARS have gone into the concept of Bric √† Brac. The eclectic d√©cor is a mix of items they have been collecting for years and the family joined the brothers to help design and model the restaurant themselves, no professional designer needed, so it is very unique and special.
Want dinner and music? this is the place to be! They are establishing themselves as a “premo” Destin music venue! Bands play nightly Thursday through Saturday 7pm-10pm. Happy Hour runs 5 to 6:30, but there are always drink specials throughout the night.
The place is divided into an upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs is a dance floor and party room where they do Latin dancing with classes given by… guess who… Fernando Petit himself who has been teaching Latin dancing for years! They have established a special menu upstairs with items under $10 and the AC is on and it feels soooooo good! The upstairs¬†hosts a variety of fun events and activities¬†so call to find out what is going on as it changes.
